Design.BGW has been a tremendous resource for us in many aspects of the project, form the inital concept through the capital campaign and the building design, and now the actual construction. |
Unique Design ProcessWe typically offer 20-30% savings over current market costs. How? The first step in creating a cost-effective facility plan is an intensive, on-site preliminary design visit where our design team alternately meets with your leadership team and works on developing the design.
The BGW team designs in a “charrette” format, implying that we design at the project site, working quickly to come up with solutions for building layouts. We ask that several critical parties be present for each of the sequenced critique sessions. These participants include representatives from the Owner’s group who understand the ministries that will be employed within the facility, a representative from the General Contractor’s group and a member of the design team at BGW. This process is preceded by inputting existing building conditions into our software.
Projects evolve with direct participation and a back and forth process we find crucial to coming up with plans and ideas that meet ministry needs to the greatest extent possible. This allows us to investigate on the spot options for the sequence of developing any given space.
The charette process is truly a mountain top experience where we ensure the design will meet your needs in every way including budget. From integrated structural and engineering systems to the use of simple forms and intelligent spatial relationships, BGW teams specialize in producing efficient, yet attractive designs. Savings happen both in the preliminary design and in the final working drawings. Click here for more info on this unique process.
